The Chicago Cubs and JCC Chicago: A Winning Combination
As Chicago kicks off another exciting baseball season, the Chicago Cubs are giving back to local neighborhood schools through a matching grant opportunity. We are so excited to share that our very own Florence G. Heller JCC has been chosen to receive a matching grant of up to $25K! Every dollar donated to Heller JCC Early Childhood will be matched dollar for dollar by Chicago Cubs Charities.
Earlier this week, two of our staff members had the honor of attending the Chicago Cubs Charities luncheon to meet other grantees, schmooze with Cubs administration, and of course, visit Clark the Cub and the World Series Trophy! What an experience it was!
As the Cubs Charities work tirelessly to keep youth active, healthy and thriving, they have generously provided over $27 million to Chicago-area nonprofits since 1986, making them the second most charitable team in baseball (with a promise to be #1)! The Cubs’ commitment to health, fitness and education makes them a natural fit with JCC Chicago, and we are honored to be a recipient of this year’s Cubs Charities School All-Star Grants.
JCC Chicago also values these virtues as we create dynamic programs for the communities that we serve. JCC Chicago has seven different Early Childhood programs across the Chicagoland area where our youngest community members learn, play, develop and grow. We also have a growing array of programs dedicated to health and fitness across various arenas of programming. From classic favorites like Maccabi Games, to new inclusion based fitness programs like All Star Abilities and All-In Swim, the J is proud to offer something for everyone and to help each participant be their best self.
