At Apachi J Camp, we blend traditional with new… old-school with songs, soccer, swimming and art… new-school with yoga, juggling, hip-hop and gaga. All infused with the spirit and values of the Jewish community.
Throughout the month of November, JCC Chicago will present a series of guest speakers and special events celebrating Israeli culture and pride. A signature event of the month is Israel Story, a live show featuring stories of strong, funny and pioneering Israeli women. Using a mix of radio-style storytelling, live music, singing, video and other media magic, the evening will educate, inspire and uplift audiences of all ages. The events will take place in the city and in Evanston in front of live, studio audiences.
We’re looking for student filmmakers of all experience levels to share previously created or new narrative or documentary short films (an original motion picture that has a running time between 3 and 10 minutes, including all credits) that thematically aligns with the JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival.
1st: $1,000 | 2nd: $250 | 3rd: $100
If you’re not a student, you can also submit your film for possible inclusion!

A teacher sharing Shabbat with a room full of four year olds stops a group of teens mid-text as they hear the soul of summer.
Throughout the corners of our city, one J moment connects to the next. Their collective power is a beacon of joy that illuminates our lives with an unmistakable vibrancy. We are JCC Chicago… and this is our story.
