A legacy is etched into the minds of others
and the stories they share about you.

– Shannon L. Adler

Making a Commitment is Simple

  • A commitment does not need to impact your current finances and can be funded during one’s lifetime or distributed from one’s estate
  • A commitment can be as small as $1,000
  • A commitment can be directed to a specific program or area of interest

Gifts from your Estate:

Bequests

Bequests are specific gifts through your will that allow you to retain your assets during your lifetime, provide tax advantages and ensure that the values you share with JCC Chicago will impact future generations. If you have already arranged to include JCC Chicago in your estate plans, please let us know so that we may honor and recognize your generosity.

Life Insurance

Life insurance is an inexpensive and easy way to make a significant future gift to an organization. Donors with life insurance they no longer need can assign dividends or policy ownership to the JCC Chicago Endowment Foundation. Another option is to designate the JCC Endowment Foundation as the beneficiary of an existing policy.

Life Income Plans

Life Income Plans are an excellent way to create your legacy, benefit from tax deductions and earn high rates of return that can provide income for your loved ones. Possibilities include:

  • Charitable Gift Annuities: In return for a gift of cash, securities or property, the donor receives a fixed annual dollar amount.
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts: Donors can make an irrevocable transfer of cash or appreciated assets to a charitable remainder trust, which is administered by a trustee. The income from the trust then goes to the donor’s designated beneficiary.

Gifts you can give now:

Cash
  • This can be a one-time or multi-year gift.
Appreciated, marketable securities
  • Incurs no capital gains tax
  • Provides a tax deduction for the fair market value
  • Can be donated to The Jewish Community Centers of Chicago Endowment Foundation to fund your legacy gift

Please note that there are additional vehicles available, including those that provide income during your lifetime. Please consult with a financial or estate planning professional to understand the implications of a gift for your circumstances and goals.
