Holding Hope for the Future
Remembering October 7.
One year after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, one of the deadliest and most traumatic days in the region’s modern history, our hearts remain with the families impacted. We mourn for lives lost, and we hold hope for hostages still waiting to come home.
The Holding Hope exhibition at the Bernard Weinger JCC commemorates this tragic day with 251 T-shirts representing every hostage. The exhibition is lovingly stewarded by JCC Chicago staff, who fold shirts and add a black name tag to honor those we hold in memory, and add an orange name tag to rejoice those who come home.
We encourage you to witness this powerful exhibition.
Together, we will move forward with strength, resilience and hope
