Inclusion is a natural part of our camps
Keshet, a national leader in inclusive recreation and education programs, is our partner in providing fully inclusive day and overnight camps. With Keshet’s one-on-one support, campers with disabilities experience a summer of adventure and friendship with their typically developing peers. Wherever possible, we provide individualized modifications and accommodations to ensure success and encourage strong peer-to-peer relationships for campers with developmental and physical disabilities.
For a private consultation and intake, please contact Keshet. Staff from JCC camps and Keshet can provide recommendations for the right camp for your child.
Avodah Vocational Program
Older teens and young adults can participate in the Keshet Avodah Corps at Camp Chi, a program that combines work-related activities with camp recreation at Camp Chi. This unique experience is recognized as one of the most innovative Jewish programs serving individuals with disabilities. Avodah members live alongside other participants while gaining valuable life skills and work experience.
Summer & Winter Family Camps
Now the whole family can go to camp! JCC Family Camps are all-inclusive getaways to Wisconsin. Activities take place on the grounds of Camp Chi while families stay in hotel-style rooms at the adjacent Perlstein Retreat Center. You choose the activities you want to do, and leave the rest to us.
For families that include children with disabilities, Keshet and Camp Chi staff provide additional support during children’s program times.
Brighten up your summer
In partnership with Jewish Child and Family Services, Camp Firefly offers a unique summer camp experience to boys and girls, ages 9-18, who have been diagnosed with social disorders, such as social anxiety, OCD, PDD, Asperger’s syndrome, non-verbal learning disorder and high functioning autism.
We understand that many children with special needs have never been away from home. Located at the award-winning Camp Chi, our safe and trusted overnight camp provides the support and attention that new campers need to adjust to an unknown environment, adapt to cabin life, and have the most fun they can. Participants explore who they are and come home with greater independence and meaningful life lessons and friendships. Daily schedules include therapeutic group activities with smooth transitions with appropriate time for breaks, keeping your child’s comfort in mind.
