Megan Roth Abraham Named Chief Advancement Office For JCC Chicago
Northbrook, IL – October 1, 2020 – Megan Roth Abraham has been named Chief Advancement Officer for JCC Chicago, it was announced by Addie Goodman, President/CEO, of the organization. Abraham joins JCC Chicago from Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative where she has served as Executive Director since 2016. She begins work in her new role on October 19.
Having worked for both secular and Jewish mission-driven organizations, Abraham has deep experience in non-profit and fundraising work, board development, and marketing and outreach campaigns. She brings a track record of fundraising success to her position at the J, as well as a solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Chicago’s Jewish community.
“I am thrilled to welcome Megan to our J family,” said Goodman. “Megan brings with her an impressive resume and skill set and a deep love for the work we do at JCC Chicago. Plus, she’s a proud Camp Chi alum and an Apachi and Camp Chi parent to boot!”
Prior to working at The Goldie Initiative, Abraham founded Bayit Afterschool, an innovative Hebrew language program for school-age children for which she received a JUF Breakthrough Fund grant and was recognized by Slingshot Midwest and Slingshot Chicago. Abraham was an inaugural Chicago cohort member of UpStart and a finalist for the Joshua Venture Group in 2015. She is active in Jewish life, serving as a Mentor to MAJPS candidates at Spertus Institute, Social Action Council Co-Chair at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie, and is a board member at Sketchpad.
Abraham earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois and her M.S. in Public Services Management from DePaul University. During college, she studied abroad at the Rothberg School at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. She and her family live in Evanston, IL.
