JCC Chicago Names Rena Rosen as Inclusion Coordinator
Northbrook, IL – August 20, 2020 — Rena Rosen has been named Inclusion Coordinator for JCC Chicago, it was announced today by Addie Goodman, President & CEO, JCC Chicago. Rena begins work in this newly created role this week.
Rena, who also works as an Early Childhood teacher at Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook, will divide her time between both positions. Having served as an early childhood educator at JCC Chicago for the last 12 years, Rena brings deep knowledge of the agency and the community to her new position.
“I’m thrilled to see Rena expand her role at JCC Chicago to help lead our agency’s continuing work in building a more inclusive community – a community that welcomes, celebrates and embraces all people regardless of age, ability, race, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation,” said Addie.
“Inclusion and validating the beauty of all differences is a concept that is in the fabric of my being,” Rena said. “Having been born with craniofacial differences, and finding belonging within the craniofacial community, I have a deep interest and connection to building a more inclusive, empathetic and accepting community where everyone feels welcome. I have dedicated much of my time to sharing my own story, advocating and facilitating difficult conversations that push us forward to a more inclusive mindset.”
As the Inclusion Coordinator, Rena will work across all departments at JCC Chicago to help create a culture of welcoming and inclusion. She will partner closely with departmental leadership to increase accessibility of JCC Chicago programs, events and facilities, as well as support staff training in these areas. Rena will work under the direct supervision of Rachel Schwartz, Director of Social Services.
