JCC Chicago Early Childhood Restores Program in Evanston-Skokie Area
Full and Half-Day Preschool at Beth Emet The Free Synagogue Will Be a Program of JCC Chicago
Northbrook, IL – September 4, 2019 – JCC Chicago is proud to announce the expansion of its Early Childhood program to Beth Emet The Free Synagogue at 1224 Dempster in Evanston. As a program of JCC Chicago, the current half-day program will be expanded to include full-day child care and preschool for children 6 weeks to 4-years-old. The new slate of programs will begin next August for the 2020-21 school year in newly renovated, age-appropriate classrooms. A selection of JCC Chicago’s high-quality adult-tot classes, parenting programs, holiday celebrations and special events will begin in January 2020.
“We’re thrilled to revive JCC Chicago’s beloved Early Childhood program in the Evanston-Skokie area and bring our preeminent Jewish preschool experience back to this community,” said Addie Goodman, President & CEO, JCC Chicago. “Our new and meaningful partnership with Beth Emet will mean more opportunities for learning, growth and connection for children, families and community members. We’ve been welcomed by the congregation with open arms and look forward to working together to serve the community through Early Childhood and young family experiences.”
Rabbi Andrea London and President Karen Isaacson commented, “This new relationship is truly a win-win for both Beth Emet and for the J. Our leadership was especially impressed by the shared values and philosophy, and we are very excited about this long-term partnership. Our clergy is looking forward to celebrating Shabbat and holidays with the children enrolled in the JCC Chicago Early Childhood program and looks forward to welcoming new families into the Beth Emet community.”
“We recognize the growing need for high quality, full day childcare options—including infant care—in the Evanston-Skokie community,” said Lonnie Nasatir, President of the Jewish United Fund of Chicago. “We are delighted with this partnership model, which will help meet that need so beautifully. It’s part of our Jewish community’s commitment to pioneering new and creative ways to offer meaningful programming and services for young families.”
Tours of model preschool classrooms, including our expertly designed infant rooms and toddler classrooms, will begin this Fall and registration will open in November. Program information, dates and details will be available at jccchicagoearlychildhood.org.
