JCC Chicago Announces Reorganization and Enhanced Leadership Team
Agency Will Shift Operations to a Regional Model
Northbrook, IL – July 19, 2017—JCC Chicago announced a reorganization of the agency’s operations to create deeper community connections and to better align with the organization’s mission. Beginning this month, JCC Chicago will shift from a program-centric model to one focused on four regions: North Shore and Northwest Suburbs; Northside; City; and, South Central Wisconsin.
JCC Chicago’s leadership team is led by Alan Sataloff who has served as CEO of the agency for the past five years and has deep experience leading, rebuilding and growing JCCs across the country. The newly created leadership team includes: Addie Goodman, Chief Operating Officer; Jerry Wolff, Chief Financial Officer; Steve Levy, Chief Marketing Officer; and, Johanna Fine, Chief Human Resources Officer.
Paramount to the success of the regional model is the hire of four Regional Vice Presidents who will serve as agency ambassadors within the community and as team leaders, advisors, program partners and innovators, reporting to Addie Goodman:
Emily Gottlieb, Regional Vice President, North Shore
Emily is a former member of JCC Chicago’s Board of Directors who most recently served as Assistant Vice President, Client Relations & Development of GCG. She’s an attorney, previously working with DLA Piper and Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. Emily has given her time to many notable community events and groups including JUF, The Ark and Solomon Schechter Day School. Emily begins work at the J in August.
Dave Matkowsky, Regional Vice President, Northside
Dave is relocating to Chicago from the New York/New Jersey metro area where he has served in a variety of leadership roles in Jewish organizations including, Executive Director of The Shmitah Fund and Director of Jewish Community Development at the 92nd Street Y. Dave will work with our community members in West Rogers Park, Skokie, Evanston and surrounding areas. He grew up in Skokie and went to Ida Crown Jewish Academy. Dave begins work at the JCC at the end of August.
Anita Denes-Meador, Regional Vice President, City
Since 2013, Anita has been Director of The Dina and Eli Field EZRA Multi-Service Center, a JUF-affiliated social services agency that strives to prevent hunger, reduce isolation and mitigate other self-sufficiency barriers. Anita managed EZRA’s programs and budget, and has expanded programs and services to better serve the immediate needs of the community. Before being promoted to the agency’s director, Anita worked in a variety of management positions (2006-2013), supervising staff and developing new programs to better serve EZRA’s clients. Anita will begin work in her new position in January.
Brad Finkel, Regional Vice President, South Central Wisconsin
Brad will continue to serve as Director of Camp Chi, while creating new business opportunities at Camp Chi and Perlstein Retreat Center in Lake Delton and in other areas of Wisconsin. Brad began his career with JCC Chicago in 1994 and since that time has held key leadership positions at Camp Chi. Brad’s leadership style blends a lifelong love of camp and a strong, strategic approach to continually grow the business. Brad will officially take on his new position at the end of August.
“I’m thrilled to see our dedicated team of leaders grow with new talent— and ultimately new ideas—about how JCC Chicago can continually provide meaningful engagement and touch points for our community,” said Sataloff. “The move to a regional model allows us to better align with our mission to enrich lives and build community, while offering premiere program options and endless opportunities for community members of all ages to find impactful and meaningful experiences.”
