Thank you to the over 300 community members, donors and dignitaries who came out to on Sun., November 13 to celebrate the dedication of Gan Avigail, our new outdoor community park at the Rogers Park Campus made possible by the Rothner family and other generous supporters in our community. Commissioner Rachel Arfa with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, Illinois Sen. Ram Villavalem, Alderman Debra Silverstein, Jewish United Fund President Lonnie Nasatir, JCC Chicago President Addie Goodman and other key players in creating the project like Katy Silvers, Mark Hartman, Pam Lookatch spoke to community members. Meanwhile, families explored the new construction while enjoying games, music and creating a time capsule.

Gan Avigail is being delivered in partnership with the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. Thanks to the Rothner Family, this park will feature two fully accessible playgrounds, playing fields, an outdoor pavilion and an accessible walking path. Plus, support from the Foundation for Jewish Camp and The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation Yashar Initiative to ensure accessibility and inclusivity of Jewish camps is a key support of the new playgrounds.
