Swim Clubs and Training
Jr. Swim Club
The Junior Swim Club is designed to give swimmers their first experience on a swim team. It offers children fun and motivating aerobic workouts focusing on stroke technique, endurance, strength, and general fitness. The Swim Club is open to children 6-14 years old who can swim 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing and 25 yards of backstroke demonstrate the breaststroke kick and dolphin kick. Goggles are recommended.
A swim club to help build swimming skills and technique, along with building and promoting a team environment for children with Special Abilities. This is open to any AIS student, or a Special Abilities child who would like to participant in a weekly swim club. (see program details for requirements)
Master’s Swim Club
Masters swimming is for everyone 18 years and older. Workouts are designed to help both competitive and non-competitive swimmers improve their overall fitness and technique, and offers an alternative, non-impact workout. Our Masters program is registered affiliated with U.S. Masters Swimming, the national governing body for adult swimming. We offer workouts two days weekly with well trained, qualified coaches. 18+ yrs
Improve your swim stroke, build your swimming endurance, and increase your efficiency in the water, during this challenging Out Season Training Program. Coach Tim will use the benefits of Periodization Training to help you achieve your swimming goals. Triathlon specific training techniques will also be incorporated in each workout session. This program is beneficial for triathletes looking to race faster, swimmers looking to improve their swim stroke efficiency, and anyone searching for a challenging cross training option during the winter months. Program participants should be able to swim 50 yards with the freestyle swim stroke.
Adult Private Lessons
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never taken a lesson, you have a fear of the water or if you need help with a specific stroke, the SwimRight™ method will help you achieve your goal. We offer 30-minute private lessons to work on the skills that will help you learn to swim.
Adult Aquatic Fitness
We offer Adult Fitness programs in the pool at the Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook and Bernard Horwich JCC in Rogers Park. See our fitness page for more information.
