JCC Chicago Statement: Black Lives Matter
Black Lives Matter.
JCC Chicago unequivocally believes that Black Lives Matter. For more than a century, our agency has been grounded in the most fundamental pillars of human dignity, powered by Jewish values: to honor identity, inclusion, empathy, kindness and community.
As a movement, JCCs welcome 1.5 million people through their doors every week, 1,000,000 people from Jewish communities across the continent, and 500,000 neighbors and friends who represent and reflect the richness and diversity of the communities we serve. JCC Chicago’s doors are wide open to all, warmly welcoming children, teens, adults and families regardless of age, ability, religion, race, gender identity or sexual orientation.
This is who we are. This is who we will always be.
