Please join long-time Chicago Architecture Center docent Robin Simon for a virtual stroll down memory lane in the Loop Theatre District. Whether it has been months, years or decades since you’ve been in one of our beautiful theatres in the Loop, you’ll learn something new about the history, architecture and famous people that have made the Loop Theatre District an entertainment destination from the mid-19th century to today. While 21st century audiences think of the area as a place to see live theatre, many people remember seeing movies in these glorious buildings between the 1950s and 1970s.
