Building Happier, Healthier Lives: Marvin Lustbader Center Welcomes the Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and military service members who incurred a physical or mental injury or illness following September 11, 2001, and their families. Its mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors as they adjust to a new normal and achieve new triumphs. The organization’s physical health and wellness programs are designed to promote healthy lifestyle habits and help produce a positive change in veterans’ physical and mental recovery.
Beginning on Friday, January 19, the EXOS Fitness Specialist team at Marvin Lustbader Center for Health, Wellness and Fitness hosted a two-day wellness event for 20 Wounded Warriors. The weekend included physical assessments, the introduction of TRX equipment and exercises, group workouts, nutrition presentations and more.
JCC Chicago and Lustbader Center are committed to providing programs and opportunities that enrich the lives of all of our community members. We were honored to work with Wounded Warriors as they adapt to their injuries, and to show the role fitness can play in coping with and managing symptoms. We thank the Wounded Warrior Project for choosing Lustbader Center to help build happier, healthier lives for our veterans and military service members.
